Innocence

This is my very first post. To be honest, i am really not a person of literary excellence but all that i am writing here is something that i felt deep within.

When i was small i always craved to get bigger so that i can do all the things that elder guys used to do, things which i was totally denied of.
But as i am growing , and getting "Big" which i always wanted to be i find the much sought after happiness has lost its meaning.

People want to be rich not because money is an enabler but just because they think that they can buy happiness with money.
In this race of life to be happy everyone of us has become a machine using all the "Tools" it has got to achieve its goals, targets and earn money.

People have gotten so much into this web of consumerism that they think or what should i say, "forced to believe" that true happiness can be achieved through consuming products.
The five senses are targeted in such a way that u start believing that actually this is the only way through which u can achieve happiness.

In midst of all this chaos when i stand i search for one thing and one thing alone and that is "Peace".
and the only way that i can think of achieving it is through switching off the world that surrounds me.

whenever i see people, i see them wearing plastic smiles, faking emotions just to get close to you, so that they can achieve their so called targets through you.

The impression that you as a reader must've been getting is that whosoever has written this post is actually a pessimist and a hopeless individual.

what i have found through my experience is that it depends on your perception how u see this world? whether the glass is half full or half empty for you?

sometimes we become so emotional that we start looking at each and everything from that perspective, and find ourselves cheated.
looking at the other side of this sometimes we start looking at each and every thing too objectively or logically and then start overlooking the human aspect of it.

I am not against consumerism but being in a B-school i am able to understand it to a larger extent.
so its not bad to earn money or consume goods but at the same time let's not forget that targets are made for us and we are not made for the targets.

Money is an enabler and it can light lamps in houses that have been living in dark for a time period which is not less than an eternity and feed people that are barely able to make both the ends meet.

Let's enjoy our lives, be happy and be whatever we always wanted to be, but let's not forget how it felt to run in a lush grass field, what it was to dance in rain, and How it felt to share a single chocalate with all your friends, How it felt when you got your first bike?

Let's make this life worth living. . . . . . . . and let's not forget what real happiness is.
